Executive Summary Proposal †¢ The Fruth Pharmacy on Camden Road will pilot test a suboxone clinic in association with Dr. Toshiba. This clinic will target patients with drug addiction and they will come here to allow the doctor to prescribe them the medicine (suboxone) that they need to control their addiction. The pharmacist will provide counseling on the medication use and discuss ways to control their addiction most effectively. Background †¢ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and The Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality’s data shows more than a 5-fold increase in opioid dependence treatment admissions. †¢ West Virginia has the second highest prescription medication overdose rate according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) (Figure 1).
